Shoe Materials

In this part of the FOOTyWEAR project, conducted by IPS together with PIPS, shoe materials will be examined to optimize the microclimate in shoes. Excessive humidity, heat and pressure (which are highly dependent on the shoe materials used) may result in the reduction of hygiene and comfort for the carrier. (see “Hygiene and Comfort).

Furthermore hazardous substances from the outer leather may migrate to the foot skin of the carrier. This issue also will be examined in this part of the project (see “Hazardous Substances”).
